RGI-1001 for Cedar Allergy
Our flagship program, RGI-1001, is an important and novel therapeutic for Cedar allergy. RGI-1001 is a specifically designed immune regulating agent with an NKT modulator. RGI-1001 specifically down regulates immunoglobulin against Cedar without altering natural immune responses, i.e., it does not suppress the whole immune system.
The rationale behind the targeting and modulation of RGI-1001 for the treatment of Cedar is based on the observation that antigen specific IgE is elevated in allergy patients.
A mouse and canine allergy model (prophylactic and therapeutic) with RGI-1001 demonstrated that RGI-1001 significantly reduced Cedar antigen-specific IgE. Based on these positive results, REGiMMUNE is currently conducting process development of GMP material and additional preclinical studies in preparation for human clinical trials.
RGI-1002 for Mite Allergy
RGI-1002 is a modified version of RGI-1001 that designed to be a therapeutic targeting Mite allergy.
RGI-2001 for GvHD, RA, MS and SLE
REGiMMUNE's other leading therapeutic candidate, RGI-2001, is currently in preclinical development for graft versus host disease (GvHD) associated with bone marrow transplantation as a proof of concept. The program will be expanded to organ transplantation including kidney, liver and heart and for several autoimmune diseases.
In autoimmune diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), down-regulation of and/or dysfunction of regulatory T-cells lead to serious up-regulation of immunity against the auto-antigen. RGI-2001 has been proven to increase the number of regulatory T cells and enhance activity in both in vitro and in vivo models. Based on this evidence, REGiMMUNE is developing RGI-2001 as a therapeutic candidate against autoimmune disease such as MS and SLE and for Graft versus Host Disease (GvHD). GvHD is graft rejection after organ transplantation, which is mainly caused by an attack of the patient’s immune system against the donor organ's MHC class I and class II antigen.
